Try finishes, colors, and layouts on a photo of your actual room before you buy anything or call anyone. Keep the versions you like in projects and inspiration boards.
Free on iPhone, iPad, and Android
Snap a photo of a room, exterior, or yard. BuildIt AI redesigns it in minutes, lists the materials with prices, and lets you get bids from local contractors.

How it works
Real screens from the app. Use as much of it as you need: stop at the design, shop the list yourself, or post it for bids.
Take or upload a photo of a room, an exterior, or a yard. Pick the room type and a style.
Get a photorealistic redesign in minutes. Describe a change in your own words, or tap Flooring, Lighting, or Tile. Every version is saved.
Each saved design gets an itemized list with quantities and prices: live retailer prices where we find a match, marked estimates where we don’t. Open any item at Home Depot or Amazon.
Example bid
Add a budget range, a timeline, and your ZIP. Contractors who cover your ZIP bid on your design and list with an estimate, a timeline, a proposal, and suggested material changes with reasons. Compare, message, and accept the one you want.
Bids open area by area as local contractors join. Your ZIP opens once two contractors who cover it have signed up. Not open yet? Tap Notify me and the app tells you when you can post.
Real photos, real AI designs

Why homeowners use it
Try finishes, colors, and layouts on a photo of your actual room before you buy anything or call anyone. Keep the versions you like in projects and inspiration boards.
Every saved design comes with an itemized materials list: quantities, prices, and a total. You start the first contractor conversation with a number for materials, not a guess.
Where bids are open, every contractor bids on the same design and the same materials list, so you compare like with like. When they suggest a different material, they tell you why.
Your street address is never shared. Contractors can’t message you unless they’ve bid on your project, and you can block and report anyone.
DIY is a full path, not an afterthought. Design it, get the list with quantities, and open each item at the retailer to buy it. No contractor required.
When you post a project
Posting a project and getting bids is free on every plan. Here is exactly what gets shared.
One thing we don’t do yet: contractors enter their own license details, and BuildIt AI does not verify licenses. Check a contractor’s license with your state before you hire. After the job, you can leave them a review.
For contractors
The app is free to download, and the free plan includes a monthly allowance of AI designs. No card needed to start. Posting a project and getting bids are free on every plan. Paid plans raise the design limit; prices are shown in the app and on the App Store and Google Play listings.
Post your project from a saved design and add a budget range, a timeline, a description, and your city and ZIP. Contractors who cover your ZIP see it and send a bid: an estimate, a timeline, a short proposal, and any material changes they suggest, each with a reason. Compare the bids, message the contractors who bid, and accept the one you want. After the job, you can review the contractor.
Maybe not yet. Bids open ZIP by ZIP: a ZIP opens once two contractors who cover it have joined, and contractors are only starting to join. If your ZIP isn’t open, tap Notify me in the app and it will tell you when you can post. Everything else (designs, refining, materials and prices) works anywhere in the US today.
Contractors enter their own license details, and the app shows them as self-reported. BuildIt AI does not verify licenses yet, so please check a contractor’s license with your state before you hire.
Your photos, your AI design, your materials list, your budget range, timeline, and description, plus your city and roughly how far away you are. Never your street address. Contractors can’t message you unless they have bid on your project, and you can block and report.
A design is a detailed preview, not a blueprint; the finished room depends on the materials and the work. On the materials list, items show live retailer prices where we find a match and are marked as estimates where we don’t. Treat the total as a planning number, not a quote.
A clear, well-lit phone photo of the whole area works.
Yes. Design it, get the materials list with quantities, and open each item at Home Depot or Amazon to buy it. You never have to post for bids.
Yes. BuildIt AI is free on Google Play, as well as on the App Store for iPhone and iPad.
Not yet. BuildIt AI is US only for now: prices come from US retailers, and bids are by US ZIP code.
